Alongside the 2009 WWA Wake Park World Championships pulled behind the cable, CWC will again host the first stop of the WWA Wakeboard World Series during the same week. The CamSur Rider’s Cup will kick off the World Series behind the boat, with all of the world’s top riders competing for a chance to become the WWA Wakeboard World Series champion at the end of the season.
Since the completion of the CWC Rail Park, the five-day event will also include one of the most highly anticipated contests behind The Wake Park Project’s revolutionary System 2.0 with three professional and three amateur divisions. During the week, the Professional Men Wakeboarders will be collecting points to determine an overall winner for the entire event. The WWA and CWC are proud to bring you the largest collective wakeboarding event to date. The combination of a WWA Wake Park World Championships, the CamSur Rider’s Cup, and the recently completed CWC rail park will allow for this event to be the first contest to crown an overall winner for all disciplines in the sport. There will be an overall champion in the Pro Men Wakeboard and Pro Men Wakeskate divisions. The champion will be determined based on 4 separate divisions behind the cable, boat and winch throughout the week.
In July of 2008, the CamSur Watersports Complex set the stage and crowned WWA World Championship titles for 15 divisions for the first ever WWA Wake Park World Championships held outside the United States. 256 riders from 19 countries all across the globe came to enjoy all of the riding, festivities, day trips, and all that the Philippines has to offer.
